CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — Spirit has signed a definitive agreement with Sycamore Partners to buy retail brand Hot Topic. On August 6, Spencer Spirit Holding, Inc., parent company of Spencer's and Spirit announced they have agreed with Sycamore Partners , a private equity firm, to purchase Hot Topic, Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. When the sale is complete Spencer Spirit Holdings, Inc. will own: Spirit Halloween, an American seasonal retailer that sells Halloween products. Spencer's, a retailer specializing in novelty and gag gifts, clothing, collectible figures, and body jewelry. Spirit Christmas, Introduced in 2024 and offers Christmas related products.
